Each POST Bureau has several main functions. Below are summaries of commonly used bureau functions and a link to each bureau function page. NOTE: Specific bureau functions are listed on the individual pages and are not all included in the summary.
Administrative Services Bureau (ASB)
The ASB supports: Professional Certificate Program, the Training Reimbursement Program, the POST Contracts Program, publication and forms design, and Rule Making (the development and maintenance of POST regulations).
Basic Training Bureau (BTB)
The BTB supports: Regular Basic Course, PC 832 Course, Public Safety Dispatchers' Basic Course, Specialized Investigators' Basic Course, Field Training Program, Requalification Course, Basic Course Waiver Process, and the Student Workbook Project.
Computer Services Bureau (CSB)
The CSB supports: EDI, POST Website, Learning Portal Questions, TMAS Questions, Computer Applications Development, POST Email and In-House Computer Network.
Learning Technology Resources (LTR)
The LTR supports: Learning Portal and Training Video Program (Telecourse and Case Law Today series).
Management Counseling, Leadership Development Bureau (MCLD)
The MCLD supports: Management Studies, Peace Officer Feasibility Studies, Field Management Training, Team Building Workshops, SBSLI, Command College, Management Course, Supervisory Course, Executive Development Course, Executive Seminars, and Specialized Training.
Standards, Evaluation, and Research Bureau (SER)
The SER supports: Testing (Law Enforcement Test Battery, PC 832, Basic Course, Skills, SIBC, TMAS), Job Analyses, Selection Standards, Medical and Vision Screening, and Physical Conditioning.
Training Delivery and Compliance Bureau (TDC)
The TDC supports: Agency Compliance, Course Control/Course Certification/ Course Catalog, CPT, POST Program, Becoming a Peace Officer, and Perishable Skills.
Training Program Services Bureau (TPS)
The TPS supports: ICI, IDI, MIDP, Driver Training, VAWA, Regional Skills Training Centers, Cultural Diversity Program, SWAT, Training Simulators, Instructor Symposium.
