RSS Description & Help

This page contains frequently asked questions about RSS. A complete list of feeds is maintained on the POST RSS Page.

What is RSS?

Really Simple Syndication (RSS) is a format for delivering regularly changing web content directly to you. The RSS feeds provide headlines and descriptions of content, along with links to the full articles. Essentially, it is a process that allows content to be delivered for free to anyone who uses the Internet.

POST RSS feeds are indicated by an orange rectangle with the letters RSS RSS Icon or a plus sign: Google RSS Icon and Yahoo RSS Icon . For those with Google or Yahoo accounts, use these icons to conveniently subscribe to a feed.

Why should I subscribe to an RSS feed?

Subscribing to an RSS feed saves you time. Instead of checking our website daily to stay on top of the latest news and updates, an RSS feed brings the information directly to you. Using RSS feeds is an easy way to stay informed about what is going on at POST. You can quickly scan the headlines and read the items of interest to you.

How do I subscribe to a feed?

In order to subscribe to one or more RSS feed, you will need a news reader. Use your favorite search engine to find a "news reader." Many are available for free, and some newer browsers, such as Mozilla Firefox and Internet Explorer, have news readers built right in. These readers allow you to subscribe to news feeds and will check the feeds for you automatically and update you with the latest headlines.

It is easy to subscribe to any of our RSS feeds. When you see the RSS icon a webpage, just select the icon, and you will open a new page. Simply copy the address of the feed to your news reader.

Once you subscribe to a feed, headlines are available in your reader. When you see a headline that interests you, click on the link to view the full article.
