Did You Know? Distracted
April 25, 2013
The new SAFE Driving video “Did You Know? Distracted” has just been released. It is available for viewing and download on the POST Website as well in the POST Learning Portal.
The video is the fourth in a series of SAFE Driving videos. It sends a humorous, yet powerful reminder regarding the hazards of patrol vehicle distractions. Distracted driving has been shown to be a significant contributing factor in many law enforcement-involved vehicle collisions. The use of mobile data computers, GPS, speed radars, in-car cameras, and cell phones while driving can each place an officer at greater risk of being involved in a collision.
The “Did You Know” SAFE Driving video series has been met with acclaim nationwide. They are each under three minutes in length which makes them perfect for roll call training. The series includes “Did You Know?” videos on seatbelt usage, unsafe vehicle speed, and fatigue. They are available for viewing and download at the SAFE Driving Campaign webpage and the POST Learning Portal.
Stay tuned for future “Did You Know?” videos on the topics of courageous conversations and nighttime driving.
Wear your seatbelt, watch your speed, and practice SAFE driving!
