New Technology Has the Ability to “Tattle”
on Officers Who Drive Poorly
November 12, 2014
An online article posted on Wired's Website details a test program with 50 Los Angeles Police Department patrol vehicles equipped with technology capable of monitoring driving habits. This article describes many of the advanced technological capabilities of Ford’s Telematics for Law Enforcement program. Although the title of this article, as well as portions of the content, somewhat disparage police behavior, the article itself is well worth the read with its description of tools available for the future of law enforcement supervision.
Bryan Vila, a professor and researcher at Washington State University and a member of the SAFE Driving Campaign, is a contributor to this article. Read the article, “Ford Police Cruisers Now Tattle When Cops Drive Like Jerks”.
