Course Description
Trends in fitness for duty evaluations (FFDE) can provide valuable information about the health of a police department, insight into issues contributing to officer impairment, and guidance wellness intervention efforts. There are many differences between department methods of completing FFDEs, such as different thresholds for initiating FFDEs and different evaluators who each have their own style and format of report writing. FFDEs are often written in a narrative format, making data extraction tedious and time consuming. In this presentation, Dr. Tran will review a study that evaluated trends and insights from 74 FFDEs conducted on police officers referred to the forensic psychiatry program at the University of Colorado between 2008 and 2019.
