Course Description

This course is POST-approved for .25 CPE hours. The newly developed IACP Psychological Services Section’s public policy committee aims to ensure policy changes align with best practice standards in psychological services. A panel will highlight legislative and regulatory inconsistencies, proposing solutions to enhance the legalities and professionalism of psychological services nationwide. This presentation will educate participants on the impact of these inconsistencies on hiring practices, wellness, and effectiveness of law enforcement personnel; present the committee's plans to address these inconsistencies and align regulations with best practice standards; and provide actionable recommendations for enhancing the legal framework and professional standards of psychological services
