Course Description

CHP Presentation regarding minimum qualifications for cadets and public safety dispatchers. PSP presentation of structured interviews and skillful report writing.

Course Objectives

Learning Objectives: 1. Increased knowledge of the Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) Psychological Screening Guidelines. 2. Increased ability to formulate assessments consistent with POST psychological dimensions. B. Learning Objectives: 1. Increased knowledge of and ability to apply POST Psychological Dimensions in the screening of CHP and Public Safety Dispatcher candidates. 2. Ability to utilize structured interviews for the purpose of psychologically assessing various law enforcement candidates. 3. Ability to assess for high-risk law enforcement candidates. 4. Ability to utilize psychological testing results in the assessment of law enforcement candidates.
