Course Description

This course will provide both experiential and didactic presentations regarding the qualifications necessary for candidates to become successful CHP Cadets and Officers. Participants will tour the CHP Academy and experience first-hand the level of training required to complete an academy. Subject matter experts, including background investigators, instructors, trainers, and management within the California Highway Patrol, will address the minimum qualifications for candidates, the role of the background investigator, and the traits or characteristics that may help or hinder the effectiveness of cadets or officers.
