Course Description

This course will provide participants with the opportunity to observe aspects of the training and duties of a CHP Cadet. Instructors from the CHP will discuss the demands of a CHP officer and the personality characteristics, as outlined in the POST Psychological Dimensions, that are most suitable for this position. Subject matter experts, including instructors, trainers, and management of the California HIghway Patrol Academy will provide information and answer questions regarding the nature of the academy as well as the role of pre-employment screening evaluations in the selection process.

Course Objectives

Evaluate high-risk law enforcement (LE) candidates.Identify POST Psychological Dimensions. Select suitable LE candidates. Analyze the demands of LE.
