Course Description
It has been nearly 20 years since findings from a national survey reported the methods and pass rates associated with preemployment psychological evaluations of police candidates in municipal police agencies across the United States. This presentation consists of findings from a new national survey of police psychologists who perform these evaluations for municipal, county, state and tribal law enforcement agencies, and includes an analysis of the impact of adjunctive assessment procedures (e.g., review of the background by the psychologist, administration of polygraph, bifurcated psychological assessment) on pass rates.
Course Objectives
Identify national norms and variations in assessment protocols and procedures. Demonstrate the impact of these variations on pass rates. Provide attendees with a contemporary national baseline against which to evaluate their own psychological screening protocol, procedures and pass rates.
