Course Description

This course is POST-approved for .5 CPE credit. Nearly 25 percent of U.S. law enforcement officers have military experience, with many also serving in the Reserves or National Guard. Police psychologists and executives must be aware of the unique psychological challenges that affect military-affiliated officers in both the assessment and intervention domains of police and public safety psychology. This presentation, led by two police psychologists with military ties, will cover key topics including service-connected disability ratings in pre-employment evaluations, the impact of current and recent military operations on veterans, USERRA and reintegration to law enforcement, and more. Guidance will be provided to law enforcement leaders and clinicians to better support and integrate military veterans into the police force.
