POST is pleased to announce a free series of workshops focused on the regulatory changes and legal requirements adopted with the implementation of the peace officer certification scheme as outlined in the Kenneth Ross Jr. Police Decertification Act of 2021 (SB 2).

What will be covered?

Each session will begin with a broad overview of the general changes to peace officer certification, the role of POST, and then a focused discussion on certificates and proofs of eligibility. Staff will answer some of the most frequently asked questions with time dedicated at the end for a short question and answer session with POST staff. 

Who can attend?

Registration is limited to peace officers, public safety dispatchers, background investigators, and non-sworn personnel from law enforcement agencies. Registration is limited to the first 500 attendees. Public sessions may be added in the future.

Can I attend more than one session?

Yes, you may attend as many sessions as you like, but you must register for each session separately.

What if I cannot attend one of the available sessions? 

Interested parties are encouraged to submit questions in advance of the session so that staff can be prepared to address them. Questions may be submitted in writing to SB2@post.ca.gov.

Recordings of the sessions will be available on the SB2 website after the session ends. POST may schedule future sessions as additional information becomes available.
