Your Recruit Training Officers are invited to attend the 24-hour POST Recruit Training Officer (RTO) Course. 

This course will provide practical training related to the role of an RTO. Commission Regulation requires full-time RTOs complete the Recruit Training Officer Course within one year of their appointment. Part-time Recruit Training Officers are strongly encouraged to attend this course. 

Additionally, all full-time and part-time Recruit Training Officers MUST complete the Recruit Training Officer Orientation Program available through the POST Learning Portal prior to interacting with any trainee, and must have sworn, full-time, law enforcement experience. Refer to Commission Regulation 1071(b).

COURSE PREREQUISITE: 

Completion of the Recruit Training Officer Orientation Program via the POST Learning Portal is required prior to attending this course.

PLEASE NOTE: POST is no longer permitted to reimburse attendance of courses by Letter of Agreement (LOA).

POST will only reimburse travel and per diem expenses to POST participating law enforcement agencies via electronic Training Reimbursement Request (eTRR). However, state agency employees will have to arrange travel accommodations and reimbursement with your own agency. 

All costs associated with attendance on behalf of non-law enforcement agency presenters will be the responsibility of the presenter. 

There will be no per diem or lodging reimbursement if the travel is within 50 miles of your headquarters/residence. 

Attendees must bring a copy of their testing policy. Additionally, it is recommended to bring a laptop to this course.
