POST-Certified First Aid Training Courses and Instructor Requirements

As referenced in POST Bulletin 2015-31, the following documents provide the POST minimum course and instructor requirements for courses meeting the standards of California Code of Regulations, Division 9, Title 22, Chapter 1.5, First Aid Standards for Public Safety Personnel effective April 1, 2015.

Expanded Course Outline Exemplars and Course Content

The following Expanded Course Outline Exemplars are a tool for agencies wishing to certify their Public safety First Aid training through POST. The exemplars contain the minimum course content required in Title 22 and can be used as a guide for putting together your agency's expanded course outline.

As of March 31, 2019, the First Aid/CPR Update Course #21798 will be decertified in EDI.  The First Aid/CPR Update Course was intended to train peace officers, who originally took the First Aid/CPR Course, on the new Title 22 content material which became effective April 1, 2015. No course presentations should be scheduled after March 31, 2019.

As of April 1, 2019, all peace officers should attend First Aid/CPR/AED Refresher #21797 course.
