Public Participation Procedures
The Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (PSOT Commission), Peace Officer Standards Accountability Advisory Board (POSAAB Board), and Advisory Committee operate under the requirements set forth by the Bagley-Keene Open Meeting Act (Bagley-Keene) under Government Code sections 11120 through 11132. Bagley-Keene generally requires that the Commission, Board, and Advisory Committee, publicly notice meetings, prepare agendas, allow public participation, and conduct meetings in a location accessible to public members unless specifically authorized by Bagley-Keene to meet in closed session.
Please note: The POST Commission, the POSAAB Board, and the Advisory Committee operate independently of one another and follow distinct procedures for public participation. Members of the public are encouraged to review the applicable body’s meeting agenda for the most accurate and up-to-date information regarding meeting location, public comment procedures, and agenda items.
